As expected, the third hour of Today returned to air on Monday morning with Megyn Kelly merely an afterthought in the minds of the show’s hosts, producers, and viewers.

The former Fox News host was officially canned by NBC just a few days ago after making those controversial comments about dressing up in blackface for Halloween.

Kotb opened the show with remarks about the hour’s changing lineup and direction, saying to viewers:
