Two Dead After Plane Carrying Crew Members From Tom Cruise's New Movie Mena Crashes Into The Andes Mountains

no title
What truly awful news.
Three men were flying back to Colombia after production had wrapped on Tom Cruise‘s new film Mena when severe weather caused their plane to crash into the Andes Mountains.
Unfortunately, Venezuelan pilot Carlos Berl and American pilot Alan D. Purwin died in the accident on Friday.
Alan was a rather experienced pilot, having worked with Tom on Tropic Thunder as well as a number of other Hollywood films like Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, and Transformers.
There is some silver lining to the tragedy, however, because the third man on board, pilot Jimmy Lee Garland, luckily survived the crash and is currently at a local hospital in Medellin recovering from his injuries.
It’s also being reported that Tom himself narrowly avoided the weather issues having flown the identical path a mere 10 minutes before the downed plane.
Our thoughts are with the friends and families of all those involved.
Rest in peace, Alan and Carlos.
