Xenu give us strength!
The newest batch of Tom Cruise/Scientology craziness recently unsurfaced by Vanity Fair is 100% true — according to acclaimed writer/producer/director Paul Haggis!
Haggis — who used to be a super serious Scientologist until he left the church in 2010 — reveals that the church DID indeed hold a wife-hunt to find Cruise the perfect post-Nicole Kidman bride, aaaand that Nazanin Boniadi was offered the role before it was given to Katie Holmes!
Both Paul and the magazine claim the church did some pret-tay creep-ay things to Boniadi while they groomed to her be the next Mrs. Cruise. THEN when she was declared “unsuitable,” Tom and Xenu banished her to Florida, where she had to scrub toilets and clean bathroom tiles with a toothbrush, dig ditches in the middle of the night, and sell Ron Hubbard‘s Dianetics on street corners!
Like most sane rational people, Haggis thought Nazanin was treated less than fairly. He confesses:
“I was deeply disturbed by how the highest ranking members of a church could so easily justify using one of their members; how they so callously punished her and then so effectively silenced her when it was done. It wasn├óΓé¼Γäót just the threats; they actually made her feel ashamed, when all she had been was human and trusting.”
By “human and trusting” Paul is referring to Nazanin breaking her confidentiality agreement by telling a pal about her short relationship with Tommy — something the church found unforgivable.
Paul says the Iranian-born actress has since escaped left the cult church and has started a new life. The director says Nazanin is currently:
“A terrific actress at the beginning of a very promising career, she is a dedicated human rights activist and a truly lovely and caring person. The last thing she wanted or needed is this kind of publicity, but here it is, and I am sure she will deal with it with the same grace and dignity she exudes in her daily life.”
Sounds like she and Ms Holmes have a LOT in common!
We are still totally creeped out (and not very surprised) by this wife-casting story, but are glad to hear the actress is out of it.
We wish Nazanin the best in her new Scientology-free life.
Hopefully, she has a lot of pals keeping an eye on her. We hear the church does NOT take kindly to ex-memebers revealing their secrets!
