This lawsuit sounds like it’s gonna go on forever!!
Last year, Tom Cruise filed a $50 million lawsuit against Bauer Media‘s Life & Style magazine for publishing a story that implied that he ABANDONED his daughter, Suri. And even though the actor didn’t want this suit to get out of hand, it most definitely is!!!
Bauer Media has a list of demands that they’re seeking, and the company’s lawyer Alonzo Wickers didn’t hold back on what they want.
Here’s the list:
The extent to which Cruise was in contact with Suri following his separation and divorce from Katie Holmes.
The expectations for Cruise’s contact and visitation schedule with Suri and the terms of the divorce agreement.
The role that Cruise’s membership in the Church of Scientology played in his decisions regarding his visitation and communication with Suri.
Suri’s mental and emotional state following the separation and divorce.
Cruise’s claim and litigation history.
And with that said, Cruise’s attorney, Bert Fields noted that his client “doesn’t go around suing people,” adding:
“He’s not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he’s going to sue.”
And while all this madness is going on, Tom has a few things he’s going after.
The actor wants:
The identity of the magazine’s sources and communications with those sources.
Bauer’s policies and practices with respect to obtaining information, paying for sources, verifying the credibility of sources with whom the writers and editors haven’t spoken.
Bauer’s practice of publishing stories about Tom Cruise.
Bauer’s history of bigotry and hatred toward minority religious groups and their members.
Bauer is currently doing everything they can to make use of their journalistic shield privileges to hopefully protect their sources, and they also want Cruise’s other lawyer, Aaron Moss to be booted out from the case.
Deets on whether or not this suit is going to trial have NOT been revealed, but if it does, it’s most definitely not gonna be pretty!!
