Tom Holland IS a relationship guy… he’s just not in one with Zendaya, despite the internet’s wishes.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming star opened up about his love life (or lack thereof, apparently) in a new interview with Elle, in which he once again shut down the rumors that he and his 22-year-old costar were dating.

While the 23-year-old and the Disney alum are just friends, Holland says he’s “definitely a relationship person,” adding:
“I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life.”

At the moment, Holland isn’t romantically involved with anyone. He’s much too busy doing press for Spider-man: Far From Home, filming his many upcoming projects, and shutting down those Zendaya dating rumors.
This isn’t the first time he’s had to do so, either. Both actors shut down reports claiming they were romantically involved in 2017, with the singer tweeting:
“Wait wait…my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years! hbu @TomHolland1996???”
To which Holland replied:
“@Zendaya does the press tour count?”
LOLz!
That same year, Zendaya confirmed to Variety that the two were just “friends,” but they’d gotten extremely close thanks to filming and promoting their Marvel blockbuster together. She explained:
“He’s a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends. This past how[ever] many months we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.”
Still, their denial hasn’t stopped the dating chatters from getting out to the media. In 2017, a source told ET that the costars are “really connected,” but are keeping it under wraps for “privacy reasons.”
Another insider told Us Weekly around the same time that Tom even met Zendaya’s family “and they love him,” adding:
“They are still seeing each other, it’s been about a year.”
Whether or not the two are lying to our faces, both are keeping busy with work.
Zendaya is off promoting her controversial HBO show Euphoria while Tommy boy is in the middle of filming The Devil All the Time, a gothic drama co-produced by his friend and Spider-Man costar Jake Gyllenhaal. He said of that project:
“I’m finding it challenging, because I’m not sharing the screen with a big 80-foot water monster. It’s just me and Sebastian Stan sitting there having an intellectual conversation. For me, the green or blue screen is like a safety blanket, because I know I’m not going to be the biggest thing onscreen.”
Don’t be so hard on yourself, Tom!
