Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan’s marriage was on the rocks long before the catfishing scandal! At least, that’s what a source claims!

Days after the news of their separation dropped, an insider close to the estranged couple gave more insight into their relationship to People on Monday, and it doesn’t sound good. Things apparently were falling apart between them for a while. The source said:

“They weren’t getting along. They haven’t been getting along, and she left and went to a hotel. She went of her own volition. She took her s**t. They got in a fight, and she [left].”

The insider didn’t get into the details of the fight. However, we all know by now what the argument was probably about… the cheating debacle! Well, the kinda cheating debacle.

In case you missed it, Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke spilled all! Brittany cheated on Tommy… kinda? She got into an online relationship with someone pretending to be Ronnie! The relationship wasn’t real as Ronnie never spoke with her… but the betrayal was! According to the hardcore singer, Brittany even “fell in love” with the catfish! The relationship began when they started talking over Snapchat. The 38-year-old comedian even went to meet up with the person at Ronnie’s home.

Brittany confessed to Tommy (and later to everyone online) that she was seduced by someone posing as Ronnie — though it appears she may or may not entirely believe the 41-year-old rocker when he says he didn’t run the account!

As you can imagine, Tommy is upset about the betrayal! As the People source noted, the Mötley Crüe drummer “got worked up” and called “the guy” — AKA Ronnie — to confront him, which is why Brittany’s catfish affair got exposed! The The Drug In Me Is You singer said Pamela Anderson‘s ex “would not stop yelling at me” over the situation, so he took matters into his own hands to try and clear his name. Oof.

But as the insider pointed out, Brittany and Tommy were having issues in the marriage before she got caught cheating. What are those problems?
