Toni Braxton Opens Up About Her Secret Abortion

Toni Braxton is such a strong and amazing woman.
She’s opened up about one of the most personal, private things in her life and we’re SO impressed by her strength in talking about it…
She had a secret abortion.
With the statics hovering around 1 in 10 women having an abortion before they’re 20-years-old, and 1 in 4 before they’re 30, odds are you know someone who’s had an abortion.
Toni revealed that ten years ago, her then boyfriend Keri Lewis got her pregnant.
She was also in the middle of a six-month prescription for anti-acne medication Accutane, which can cause serious pregnancy complications.
So she terminated the pregnancy.
What’s amazing is how honest she got in her new book Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir. She tells how even if she weren’t on the medication, she’d still have gone through with the procedure anyway. Her decision was apparently more about not letting her lifestyle be inconvenienced.
Afterwards, she’s dealt with so much guilt. She was raised in a strictly religious home, that def didn’t support abortion. Then, when her son Diezel was born with autism, she thought she was being punished by God. She even thinks her lupus diagnosis and her parents’ messy divorce are all part of God’s payback!
That’s so terrible! She needs to know that sometimes bad things happen and there’s no need to feel guilty.
We’re so glad she’s able to speak openly about these things so she can give strength to other women, possibly struggling with the same decisions.
