Did You Think The Tony Awards Red Carpet Was A Little More Glam Than In Past Years?? You Can Thank Anna Wintour For That!!

The Queen of Fashion just expanded her empire!
The Tony Awards may be the most prestigious award show for musical theater, but the red carpet hasn’t always reflected the elegance of the night… Until 2015, that is!
If the gowns worn by the nominees and Broadway A-Listers on Sunday seemed more extravagant to you than in past years, that was totally intentional.
In fact, Anna Wintour herself single-handedly transformed the Tonys red carpet after being asked to help by head of the American Theater Wing William Ivey Long and New York City celeb Jordan Roth.

In an interview before the Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming-hosted ceremony, Anna talked about bringing her Vogue style to the event, saying:

“It was a great honor and we were just so thrilled to be asked. I mean all of us at Vogue are such theater fans. When William and Jordan asked us to come on, we just said yes immediately. It has been a fantastic experience because everyone has been so appreciative and grateful.”

So we have Anna to thank for giving us all of our favorite looks from the weekend!
We think she did an excellent job, because even the stars who ended up on our Worst Dressed List don’t look that bad.
How do U think Anna did with styling the Tony Awards VIPs??
