Australian model Georgina Burke has recently been signed as Torrid’s first-ever face of their brand!
The plus-size retailer debuted the 23-year-old on the cover of their swimwear catalogue, plus in stores and online too.
And she couldn’t have been more thrilled!
Georgina confessed to WWD:
“I kind of freaked. It was just so exciting. A plus-size model going under contract with a brand hasn├óΓé¼Γäót happened for years, and it couldn├óΓé¼Γäót be with a better company.”
What better way to make your debut than with a bathing suit spread?!
We think Georgina absolutely killed it with her sultry stare, ferosh poses, and overall fabulosity!
She also explained:
“Sixty-eight percent of women in America are over size 12. Why can’t we be put in the magazine as well? Who’s to say we aren├óΓé¼Γäót good enough to be in there? What’s wrong with putting me as the face of a company or using us [plus-size women] in a magazine or putting us out there in a fashionable way?”
TRUTH.
After all, Australian Cosmo featured the gorge Robyn Lawley on their March cover!
May more retailers and mags take note and feature more diverse models!
