Since Drew Carey is big soccer fan, he was more than thrilled to attend the World Cup this year, but a touring company claims that he stiffed them the down payment on a 35-night stay at a 5-star resort.
The company insists that Drew’s assistant called in January to get tickets to some of the games and book a hotel room for his month-long stay in South Africa. The total cost of the trip was $376,930.13.
Since they claim that Carey only paid for the tickets and did not use the hotel room, the touring company are suing for their $220,000 down payment plus interest and damages.
Drew’s rep says, “This is a ridiculous lawsuit. The company knew in early March that Drew was not booking the trip through them and we are confident that Drew will be vindicated in court.”
Yikes!
