Driver Who Crashed Into Tracy Morgan's Car & Killed The Comedian's Friend Wants Criminal Charges Dismissed

The driver who caused the deadly car accident that seriously injured Tracy Morgan wants all criminal charges against him dropped!
Kevin Roper, who was driving a truck for Walmart and hadn’t slept in 28 hours when he caused a multi-vehicle crash on June 7, 2014, wants to walk free from criminal prosecution, according to his lawyer.

Roper seriously injured Morgan — the comedian was in a wheelchair for more than five months after the wreck — and killed Morgan’s friend, James “Uncle Jimmy Mack” McNair.
Now, Roper’s lawyer David Jay Glassman has told reporters his client doesn’t wish to face criminal prosecution, arguing that Roper won’t get a fair trial due to extensive national media coverage about the crash:

“Mr. Roper had a right to have his case decided by a jury not a mob in the street fueled by media reports innuendo and speculation.”

Hmmm…
There are remedies to improve a defendant’s ability to get a fair trial (like moving trial locations and sequestering juries) so… we’ll see if Roper can use a magic “get out of jail free” card here, or if he’ll actually have to face the music for the crash he caused.
