UPDATE 5:37 PM EST: Tracy Morgan released an official statement on the settlement Wednesday, saying:

“Wal-Mart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably.”

Last year, Tracy Morgan was involved in a horrible car accident with a Walmart truck, which left the comedian seriously injured and killed fellow comedian James McNair.
On Wednesday, the superstore announced that it had settled a lawsuit with Morgan’s representatives.

The actual terms of the settlement are confidential, but according to Walmart CEO Greg Foran, the settlement that ended the litigation was “amicable.”
Foran had this to say in a statement from the company:

“Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident. While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what’s right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident. We worked closely with Mr. Morelli, and we are pleased to have reached an amicable settlement that ends this litigation. We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved.”

Morgan’s agent Lewis Kay had nothing to add to Walmart’s statement, so it does sound like the two parties reached an agreement.
We’re glad this litigation was finally settled and that Tracy can get back to focusing on getting better!
