The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards took place Sunday night, and you better believe Travis Kelce was showing love for his wifey — even if he couldn’t be there in person.
It was a big night for Taylor Swift.
Not only was she there to introduce the music video for Patient Zero, which stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, she also won several awards: Best Direction for Opalite, Video of the Year for The Fate of Ophelia, and the first ever Artist Director Honors award.

She’s now won 33 awards, which breaks the record for most awarded artist in VMAs history — a record previously held and tied by herself and Beyoncé at 30 awards.
She’s certainly come a long way from Kanye West interrupting her VMAs speech back in 2009!
As she introduced Patient Zero, a song fans are widely speculating could potentially be inspired by her friendship with Sophie Turner and ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, she opened up about her love for music videos, saying:
“I got to start making music videos and being a part of music videos 20 years ago, and since then, I’ve gotten to be a part of making 60 music videos, roughly 60. 18 of those, I wrote and directed, and I really love writing and directing music videos. I’ve gotta tell you, the main reason I love writing and directing music videos so much is because you, the fans, make it so much fun. It’s so rewarding! Because you actually care about what we’re making!”
The full music video will be available on YouTube on Tuesday, September 29.

And when she won the night’s big award for Video of the Year, she dedicated it to “the ultimate showgirl,” Dolly Parton.
“I want to thank and dedicate this award to one person without whom just this wouldn’t be happening, and that person is the ultimate showgirl, Dolly Parton. Every single song that she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid and so rich. Listening to her songs, it’s like watching the best music video you have ever seen in your life, every single time you hear what she has written. And she handled this thing with such grace and joy, and love, and gratitude for the fact that she got to do this. And everything that happened in her life or her career, she channeled back into love and gratitude and appreciation for her fans. I am lucky I got to be one of them, and I will always be one of them. I love you all so very much, and I think that we were all very lucky to share this planet with Dolly Parton for a time.”
So, so true. We have all been so lucky.
Taylor’s husband couldn’t make it, of course. He was busy helping the Kansas City Chiefs win against the Miami Dolphins.

Trav “liked” multiple Instagram posts showing off Taylor’s red carpet look and time inside the ceremony. Gotta “like” to show the love! Number 1 rule of relationships in the digital age, for better or worse!
