The NFL star and his girlfriend Taylor Swift have been enjoying private vacations and low-key family time over the last few months while they both have time off work. It’s been super romantic and naturally many are just gearing up for the proposal announcement — only that won’t be coming for a little bit. But it is coming!

A source told DailyMail.com on Monday that there’s one big thing Travis needs to finish before he’s ready. But the wait won’t be much longer! They explained:
“Once he is done playing [football], the conversation will be front and center.”
So, we could be looking at a winter proposal?!
The Kansas City Chiefs player agreed to return for one more football season after the team’s disappointing loss at the Super Bowl in February. He was already facing a lot of retirement rumors, so it’s believed this will be his final time on the field. Obviously, he’s putting all his effort into going out on a high note — and we can’t think of anything cuter than getting engaged after securing another championship win! Fans thought they might get engaged after the Super Bowl had they won last time, so it seems like this is a similar theory!
In the meantime, Taylor’s parents Scott and Andrea are patiently awaiting the day the athlete sits them down to ask a very important question, the insider added:
“Everyone is just waiting for Travis to ask her parents for her hand in marriage, her parents will say ‘yes,’ and they can’t wait for them to get engaged. Nothing seems to be imminent, but it will 100 percent happen.”

That said, the lovebirds aren’t waiting to make it official to build the life of their dreams — in their eyes, they’re already end game! The confidant remarked:
“Taylor and Travis are treating this relationship as their last relationship, and when they get engaged, when they get married and when they start a family, it will be exactly when it is meant to happen.”
The pop star has already been won over by her man’s care for his family — giving her no doubts about eventually saying yes when he pops the question. The source explained:
“Taylor is impressed with Travis in so many ways, but how he interacts and treats his parents and her parents, whether they are all together or not, is beyond compare.”
They went on:
“There is a lot that Taylor has been able to see of the person Travis is by the way he treats family, and she just loves it. When they start a family of their own, she knows that it will be perfect because she has seen it firsthand that he puts in the work to be such a family man.”
It helps that the singer and tight end both feel that “anytime they can all hang out together” with family “the better.” They’re on the same page — and so are their relatives:
“They are enjoying every part of their relationship, and their parents are all in. Friends are all about it, too. It is just a perfect life for them all right now, they can’t believe their good fortune, but they also aren’t taking it for granted.”
