Twilight Director Feels Guilty About Robsten & Bashes Original Script!

It will probably be at least another five years before Catherine Hardwicke can sit down for an interview without talking about working on Twilight. Then again, if she keep dropping bombs like these when she is asked about the movie, she might never escape it!
In a new interivew, Catherine was asked again about working on the original Twilight film, but this time, the topic got off of the movie and focused in on the personal relationships of the flick’s main stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Everyone already knows the bed story (they made out for the first time on Cat’s bed, FYI) and how at the time of filming, Rob was heavily invovled with co-star Nikki Reed and K-Stew was dating Michael Angarano. But all that went away when the two fell in love and for Catherine, there’s a twinge of guilt that goes along with that knowledge. She says:

├óΓé¼┼ô[Michael’s] a wonderful actor. He was in Dogtown, one of my favorites, so I felt pretty bad because I love him and they were such a great couple.”

Not better than Robsten! Certainly not more profitable!
Besides, everyone was better off anyway. Robsten was born, Nikki got married and Michael continues to make a name for himself in great indie flicks. So, no need for the guilt there. What she MIGHT feel bad about later is what she added about the script of Twilight when it first reached her desk. She said of rewriting the scripts:

├óΓé¼┼ôEvery one of those scripts sucked. Oh, Lord, did they suck. I thought the script was horrible, but then I looked it up on the Internet and I thought, ‘Okay, it├óΓé¼Γäós based on a book and people tend to like it. There├óΓé¼Γäós gotta be something there.’ “

Hmm. Inneresting. So, you re-wrote the script, but you left in the spider-monkey line? That’s what you call a rewrite?! LOL!
