Did Showtime Kill Laura Palmer?? Twin Peaks Revival In Trouble As David Lynch Confirms His Exit!

no title
Just a couple weeks ago, we heard the first rumblings that all was not well in the sleepy town TV revival of Twin Peaks.
Despite scripts already being completed and actors confirming their returns, one of the biggest puzzle pieces just can’t seem to fit.

Sadly, it looks like contract negotiations between Showtime and co-creator David Lynch have officially failed.
Lynch announced his exit from the show on Twitter, explaining:

Interestingly, this seemed to catch Showtime off guard. In their official statement, they publicly flinched — while also keeping fans’ hope alive that Lynch might return:

“We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. Showtime also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.”

So what will happen? Is this Lynch playing hardball to get the budget he needs? Or has he really left town??
At least one cast member has come out as Team Lynch. Kimmy Robertson AKA Lucy Moran, wrote:

“Dear Showtime….I hope you’re happy.
P.S. you really really suck.”

Will the show’s stars follow Lynch’s lead? Can Twin Peaks survive at all without its creator??
