If someone told us that Hostess’s Twinkie recipe and brand could be bought for a mere $410 million, we would’ve called some people up and scraped together $410,000,005 or something!

The joint offer was made from Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management… as a bid to set the floor for an auction. Even the Hostess CEO Greg Rayburn had predicted the process would be “wild and wooly.”
It was neither wild, nor wooly, as nobody else submitted an offer! Bankruptcy is a bitch!
Still, we’re glad that there’s a hope on the horizon for the snack, as it’s a staple grounded in folklore at this point. What kind of world would it be if kids grew up not knowing what a Twinkie was??
