Twitter almost bought Soundcloud?? Agh, that would have been so awesome!
The succinct social network has had its little bird’s eye on acquiring a music platform for months now, reportedly having considered buying both Pandora and Spotify before finally settling on the cloud.
This would have been so amazing! Listening to music on Twitter, uploading sounds with your tweets, streaming easily from anywhere, sharing songs with your followers!
Unfortunately, it was not to be, as Twitter left talks with the sound-sharing platform empty-handed.
It looks like the company was bowing from pressure from gun-shy investors who thought the acquisition was too risky, but who knows?
If Twitter is that intent on adding music, we’re betting they’ll figure out a way. Unfortunately, it’ll only be the first 140 beats… LOLz!
