Aww! Baby cheetahs!
Both of these little suckers were born from separate mothers at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, part of the National Zoo in Washington D.C., on December 6th and 16th.
Although the cheetah cubs look happy to be feeding from this momma cheetah, there were early challenges to keeping them alive.
A mother cheetah’s body often does not produce enough milk after giving birth to small litters, like these two in particular, so researchers had to hand feed the older cub until the other cheetah gave birth on the 16th.
They hope that the stimulation from two mouths as opposed to one will increase milk production.
