Hannah Brown‘s runner-up took to Twitter on Wednesday to defend himself against a fan who accused him of shading the former Bachelorette. The reality TV star reportedly “liked” a negative comment about his ex, but Cameron insists there’s no bad blood between them!

The 26-year-old began his series of tweets with a “mea culpa” moment and apologized for the double-tap:
“Someone DM’d me something that I liked a comment that said I was throwing shade at HB and I must say that is a complete accident. For 1 I am very selective for what I like. 2nd, that girl deserves no shade and nothing but success. She empowers women and deserves all the accolades.”
Although he didn’t provide any context about the questionable comment, Tyler seemingly hints it might’ve been in reference to Brown’s journey to find love. He tweeted:
“She empowers women and created so much conversation on how women should be treated. I am grateful for our time together and all that I learned from her. Made a joke about ‘clarity’ because that was such a hot topic from the show. Will always support HB and her family.”
In another tweet, the model added he didn’t want to “take away from her and her family” and called Brown’s brood “amazing people.”
Wrapping up his defense, Gigi Hadid‘s rumored new man added:
“Way to grateful for any shade in my life. All love on my end.”
When you consider how quickly things have been heating up between Cameron and Hadid, we’re inclined to agree. The guy went from a lovable contractor looking for a lasting relationship on national television, to locking lips with a supermodel and hanging out with A-listers faster than we could say, “roll tide!”
So, yeah — he’s got plenty to be grateful for!
We’re not exactly sure Hannah feels the same way, though…
The Dancing with the Stars competitor did sound a teeny bit bitter in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan where she made references to her and Tyler’s short-lived connection and her overall experience on the ABC show.
However on Wednesday, Brown opened up to Entertainment Tonight about the former couple’s most recent conversation, revealing she messaged him about his father’s health. (The one-time NFL prospect previously mentioned his dad’s health took a turn for the worse when he left for the dating competition show.)
This is the first interaction we’ve heard of since the pair spent the night together at the former pageant beauty queen’s place in Los Angeles after the Bachelorette ended. As we told you, Cameron was spotted with Hadid in New York days later. Eager to put their missed connection behind her, she told the outlet:
“I think we were both single and it is his decision to do whatever makes him happy and so I want my own happiness. I’m moving forward.”
Focus on your own happiness, girl! We’re rooting for you!
