Even though Uggie retired from his film career after starring in Best Picture Winner The Artist he was still able to ride his fame right into the position of Nintendo’s spokesdog!
He will be appearing in new ads for the Nintendo 3DS.
A Nintendo rep said:
“Uggie didn’t have to sit up and beg for his role. It’s truly our pleasure to work with a star of Uggie’s magnitude.”
Sadly, Uggie has been fighting a mysterious neurological disorder and this is what had led to his retirement from films.
His trainer said:
“It is a shame this has happened when he is getting the biggest success of his career, but we feel the best thing to do is to retire him after the Oscars.”
Awww, we hope he’s okay.
And we’re glad he’s still getting work cause we wanna see more of his cute face!
