It looks like things have finally leveled off between United Airlines and Dr. David Dao.
According to the 69-year-old’s lawyers, Dao and the airline have reached an “amicable settlement” weeks after video of the medical professional being brutally dragged off an overbooked flight went viral.
The incident sparked worldwide outrage — and a procession of airline PR nightmares — leading the injured Dao to file a massive lawsuit against the company with the help of Chicago’s top attorneys.

But United has seemingly circumvented the stormy skies of court and landed on a settlement with the wounded traveler — which was reached the same day the airline announced “positive changes to improve the customer experience.”
The amount will remain confidential, but we have a feeling Dr. Dao cashed in on quite the first-class pay day. Hopefully, it makes up for being treated like an uncooperative snack cart.
