What?! That Beaten United Airlines Passenger Was Previously Convicted For Illegally Writing Prescriptions In Exchange For Sex!

Well, here’s a twist in the skies.
United Airlines has been shamed by the internet after a video went viral of a passenger being violently removed from an overbooked flight.
But now, it looks like the 69-year-old doctor who was hospitalized for injuries from the incident might not be so innocent himself.
According to TMZ, Dr. David Dao was charged with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers!
The doctor, who specialized in internal medicine, was also reportedly convicted on 6 felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit, and was given 5 years probation in 2005.

Not only did prosecutors claim Dao illegally filled prescriptions for hydrocodone, Oxycontin, and Percocet, but he was also convicted for writing prescriptions and check to a patient in exchange for sex!
Wow, we did NOT see this coming — just like Dr. Dao didn’t see those Chicago Aviation Officers coming to violently drag him off the plane.
The father of five surrendered his Kentucky medical license in February 2005, and made a brief career change following in the wake of his suspension — by playing poker, no less!

Dr. Dao joined The World Series of Poker in July 2006 and made a KILLING in the circuit over the next few years.
In 2009, he came in second place in a tournament and walked away with over $117,000. His WSOP profile shows total earnings of $234,664.
The medical board lifted the suspension in 2015 and allowed him to practice medicine again, though he is only able to practice in an outpatient facility once a week.
Who knew this guy would end up being the most interesting airport beatdown victim in the world?
