Val Kilmer Could Not Get Out Of Bed For YEARS Before His Death

Val Kilmer was so weak before his death he couldn’t even get out of bed? For years?? Oh no…

As the world continues to come to grips with the tragic passing of the Tombstone star, we’re hearing more about how he spent his final years. And it sounds extremely tragic.

According to his daughter Mercedes Kilmer, he came down with pneumonia before his death, which is what ultimately took him. Now, family sources have spoken to TMZ revealing even more about his health.

You probably know Val was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and had taken a major step back from Hollywood. He had to have so much treatment… we knew it was a small miracle when he was able to return to the big screen just for a single scene in Top Gun: Maverick. But that apparently was more miraculous than we thought.

According to the insiders, the Top Gun star had become so depleted of energy from his cancer treatments that he could no longer get out of bed — for YEARS before he passed. That’s so incredibly sad… Mercedes previously shared that he’d overcome his cancer, but clearly at a major blow to his overall health.

The insiders confirmed he was indeed cancer free, but that his body was in such a weak state that it eventually just shut down. They noted he was incredibly frail near the end of his life, and that his passing was not sudden. His overall condition reportedly dropped off the deep end within the past week and his friends and family rushed to be by his side.

The sources also noted he’d already been hospitalized once earlier this year, and the video he shared on Instagram in February of him trying on a Batman mask was recorded years ago — so it wasn’t an accurate depiction of how he currently looked.

Our hearts remain with the Kilmer family and all of Val’s loved ones. Rest in peace.
