Tuesday’s free Alexisonfire concert at Yaletown LiveCity surrounding the Olympics in Vancouver came to a halt after fans knocked over a barricade bordering the stage.
9 people were taken to the hospital and 20 were injured in the incident. One concert goer suffered a compound leg fracture while fans pushed forward and knocked the fence over.
The band had only been playing for 10 seconds!
“We were all so excited that you completely decimated the whole barrier,” said guitarist/singer Wade MacNeil. “The reality of the situation is that it’s completely destroyed and it’s really dangerous and there’s an incredible amount of sharp objects up here and a lot of people got hurt when that happened.”
The show was canceled and the audience was pissed! There will supposedly be a gig to make up for the mess.
