We hate news like this.
Austin Butler has lost his mom.
Both Austin and his girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, released the sad news on Twitter.
Austin’s mom, Lori Butler, passed away yesterday morning, but both stars used Twitter to send her love and celebrate her life.
Austin posted:
Lori Butler, my mom, my hero, & my best friend passed away this morning. Lets all celebrate her. I love you and will miss you every day Mom.

Meanwhile Vanessa posted her own message:

It’s unknown what caused Lori’s death, but it’s nothing less than heartbreaking no matter what.
We’re glad the couple of about two years have each other to get through this sad time.
And hopefully all the good things happening in their lives, like Vanessa’s upcoming Broadway show, will help them to carry on.
