Crime doesn’t pay!
And in the case of Vanessa Hudgens vs. the rock she defaced, the actress is gonna have to pay.
We previously told you how she was under investigation for carving her name and her boyfriend Austin Butler‘s name in a heart into one of the red rocks at the Coconino National Forest in Sedona, Arizona.

The Grease: Live! star shared a snap on social media, and that certainly bit her in the butt!
Now, after the investigation over the illegal act of defacing a national feature on U.S. Forest Service land, Vanessa will pay a $1,000 fine.
The fine will be used by a volunteer group called Friends of the Forest and goes toward helping to restore the rock wall. The agreement was apparently made on April 19, but has just now been made public.
We’re glad it’s all settled, and we bet Vanessa AND many others unaware of the law have learned a lesson.
