Just one week after news broke Vanessa Hudgens and longtime boyfriend Austin Butler called it quits, the High School Musical alum has already been spotted with someone new.
Per TMZ, the 31-year-old actress was seen out to dinner with none other than Los Angeles Lakers player Kyle Kuzma at Italian bistro Lilia in Brooklyn, New York on Tuesday night. In case you might’ve forgotten, this is Kendall Jenner‘s rumored ex-flame we’re talking about here!

According to photos obtained by the outlet, Vanessa and Kyle looked quite comfortable together over an intimate, candlelit dinner for two. It appears they enjoyed a bottle of red wine with their meal at the trendy eatery and there was no shortage of smiles and laughs to go around!
Man, talk about being single and ready to mingle. We see you, girl!
The timing of the pair’s dinner date lines up with the 24-year-old NBA star’s upcoming basketball schedule as the Lakers are set to play the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. So, it looks like these two found an opportunity to squeeze in a little quality time together while the star was in town, too.

We have to admit, we’re very surprised to hear about this outing — and not just because Vanessa and Austin literally just broke up. We simply had no idea the TV and film star and the hunky athlete were even such close pals to begin with! Apparently, social media sleuths have noticed there’s been some telling activity between them lately that we all might’ve overlooked.
After the Lakers beat the Houston Rockets on Saturday, Kuzma posted a photo of himself on the court to Instagram captioned, “Yeaaaa we like thattttt.”
“Ya we doooo,” Hudgens commented right back! See their exchange go down in the screenshots (below):
And let’s also consider this supportive post the Princess Switch actress recently shared, where she gave a direct shoutout to Kuz among others, too.
Alongside the video (below), she wrote:
“Ugh @lakers @kingjames @kuz @dwighthoward my heroes???”
Oh, so he’s already a hero in her eyes? Should we expect to see Vanessa wearing his jersey court-side at games moving forward, too?!
We might not be at that stage yet but there’s something clearly brewing here — even if their respective reps haven’t confirmed anything yet. We’ll be keeping an eye on this for sure!
Keep in mind, though, there is still a possibility Austin and his longtime love will find their way back to each other. As an insider recently shared with E! News, the former couple “are split for now” but are “going to see what happens.” They also added:
“They have such a history and deep connection they could find their way back to one another. Right now she felt like he needed to go and be single and see if that’s what he really wants.”
