Wow, looks like Vanity Fair took all that past criticism to heart!
The magazine is notorious for featuring very few people of color on its covers, and for always relegating non-white celebrities in a group to the foldout portion of the cover, so they’re not visible on the front.
These past exclusionary practices make the current 20th annual Hollywood Issue cover seem like a revolution!
It not only features an equal number of white and non-white celebrities, but it also includes two black actors on the first page where they will be seen by all on the newsstand!
Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba hold court alongside Hollywood royalty Julia Roberts and George Clooney, front and center!
Meanwhile, the foldout includes breakout black stars Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Naomie Harris, and Chadwick Boseman flanked by industry veterans as well as newcomers Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Brie Larson, and Lea Seydoux.
On top of that, this issue is the one with the juicy Gwyneth Paltrow story that she tried so hard to stop!
We’re totes buying this!
