McDonald’s and Vermont are finally on speaking terms again.
Vermont took McDonald’s to court for mislabeling it’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal as being “maple flavored” when, according to Vermont’s strict laws about what can and cannot be called “maple flavored,” it isn’t.
Said State Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross:
“The word ‘maple’ has a very specific meaning to Vermonters. Vermont maple products are renowned not only for their flavor, but for their quality.”
Starting February 1, customers at a Vermont McDonald’s can request 100% maple syrup or sugar to be added to the oatmeal.
Good thing this was all resolved. We have NO IDEA what Vermont would do if they couldn’t eat oatmeal at McDonald’s! The whole state would likely fall into chaos! LOL!
