Viola Davis adopted her daughter Genesis in 2011.
And she loves parenting so much, she wonders how she went so long without it! She says:
“I always wanted a child but acting is a very self-focused profession. We├óΓé¼Γäóre late getting married, late having children, all of a sudden you stop for five minutes and think, ‘What have I been missing?'”
Not that having a child is easy! Viola says it may be the toughest thing she’s ever done! And considering her family, that makes her feel pretty weak sometimes. She says:
“This is bringing me to my knees, having a child. My grandmother had 18 children. Can you imagine? Even with one, I feel I├óΓé¼Γäóm always on survival mode, just trying to get through each day.”
Oh, we’re sure she’s doing just fine! She’s a bit more iffy; she says:
“I never thought that I could feel like such a failure but, at the same time, I├óΓé¼Γäóm amazed at how much I feel like the greatest hero alive.”
See? That’s what every parent feels!
Of course, if she ever feels she isn’t doing a good job, she could always act like a better parent! We know she’s good at that! LOLz!
