French President Nicolas Sarkozy has unveiled new measures intended to promote French culture, arts, and history.
If you’re a teacher or aged 25 or under you can now visit any public museum in France free of charge.
Sarkozy also announced plans to establish a new national history museum at some “symbolic site.”
“Emblematic great monuments, cathedrals, abbeys and small town monuments” (read: tourist traps!) are also receiving a nice kick of cash, as the annual national heritage budget will receive a boost to the tune of 100 million euros, with priority given to those sites.
These are only a few of the new measures aimed toward the excellence in the arts.
