Why are there people like this out in the world?
A waitress named Taelor May Beeck had a bad day working at Zombie Burger in Des Moines, Iowa, earlier this week when she was stiffed out of a tip on a $17.26 tab — because of her pink hair!

The waitress went to collect the check after the meal, when she found the customer had left a note on the receipt.
The note cut RIGHT to the point — and is so completely absurd!

Who would write stuff like that and share it in public, let alone leave it for a waitress to find?!
People are AWFUL!

To Beeck’s credit, she really didn’t get that mad about it, telling WHO-TV:
“At first, I felt really upset, I felt attacked, I almost felt like I was back in middle school all over again, like being bullied. I felt like a burning anger inside of me. But when someone puts hate out there, you know to respond in a hateful way will do no good.”
Beeck’s employers released a statement standing by the waitress, too:
“We believe that zombie burger is a place that celebrates individuality. We are in 100% support of our staff and we’re confident that our customers will be as well. She is an example of a great team member and we are standing by her.”
Awww!
Seriously, someone eating at a place called “Zombie Burger” was expecting “normal”?

Beeck decided to go public with her story for a good cause, too — she wants people to think about kindness and empathy when they see people in their daily lives who may look different:
“I would tell them to not judge someone based on what they look like. I mean, I may look like a weirdo but I’m actually a very nice, decent person. It’s the way that I can express myself artistically and it’s really important for me that I’m allowed to do that, and it’s OK if people don’t understand it because it’s just who I am.”
She seems pretty damn nice to us! And as pink hair aficionados, we think she looks darn skippy!
