It’s like a poorly written episode of Homeland!
TSA caught musician Wayne Coyne yesterday smuggling a grenade past the security checkpoint at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers Airport!!
A GRENADE!!
We knew The Flaming Lips were wacky — they made a six hour song? Oh, cute! — but sneaking grenades onto planes is most certainly not charming!
It’s dangerous! And because of his actions, the terminal was temporarily shut down and who knows how that affected OkC travelers!
Delayed or canceled flights before Thanksgiving means people flying home for the holiday spend less time with their loved ones!! What a terrible ripple effect Wayne’s actions may have caused!
At least the singer knows he was in the wrong. He posted a quick apology on Twitter along with a picture of him at the airport (above).

The apology is sincere, but still we cannot fathom Wayne ever thought grenades and airplanes were a wise combination!
It’s unclear right now what legal consequences he may suffer.
