Metalcore band We Came As Romans has lost their lead singer, according to a statement put out by the group today — 28-year-old vocalist Kyle Pavone has died.
The cause of death is still unclear, though sources tell TMZ that Pavone was initially transported to a hospital in the band’s native state of Michigan on August 19; after several days there, he was pronounced dead this morning.

The band released at statement about Pavone’s passing on social media, writing (below):

“Today music lost another great … Kyle’s tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing. We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent.”

Sad.
And band members have already poured in tributes to Pavone on social media, too, including bandmate Joshua Moore on his Instagram account (below):

Powerful, powerful stuff.
We Came As Romans was best known for their album Tracing Back Roots, which reached #8 on the Billboard charts in 2013.
Their more well-known songs to date include HopeThe World I Used To Know, and I Knew You Were Trouble.
