Weight Watchers Gets Overhaul

Weight Watchers has long relied on a simple premise — limit your daily calorie intake by only allowing yourself certain amount of “points” each day. That├óΓé¼Γäós about to change.

The point system will stay in place, but foods will be assigned new point values. The new point system will take into account the nutritional value of foods, such as the balance of protein, carbs, fat, and fiber. Under the new system, most fruits and vegetables will clock in at zero points.

This overhaul will help dieters focus on eating healthy food like an apple instead of a 100-calorie pack of cookies — both may contain a similar amount of calories, but the cookies will provide no nutritional value whatsoever.

The new system will also put more of a focus on foods high in fiber and low in fat.

This is brilliant move for Weight Watchers, which desperately needed this change!
