In the West African country of Togo, animals are sparse in a small village on a mountainous plateau, so the villagers must eat what they can get and unfortunately, that includes rats!
Yuck!
As much as we advise against it, we’d probably take a McDonald’s quarter pounder over a rat any day!
Although we shudder at the thought of eating such a rodent, the residents there actually consider it a delicacy and will go to great lengths to capture their prey.
In fact, a hunter goes as far as to say, “the meat of the rat is more delicious than the meat of the chicken.”
That’s a bold statement! We doubt we’ll ever find the courage to put his theory to the test though. Ha!
