Presidential hopeful John McCain‘s campaign is strongly calling for an end to all the questions and news surrounding the background of VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Campaign senior adviser Steve Schmidt wrote in a statement, ├óΓé¼┼ôThis nonsense is over.”
The Republicans are crying sexism!
Says the McCain adviser: ├óΓé¼┼ôThis vetting controversy is a faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee for vice president of the United States who has never been a part of the old boys├óΓé¼Γäó network that has come to dominate the news establishment of this country. The McCain campaign will have no further comment about our long and thorough process.”
Are McCain’s people sure they did adequate research on Palin and her background? And why shouldn’t we talk about her, her life, and her career?
Seriously, McCain is OLD. We’re not sure he’ll last two, full terms. Maybe not even one.
So, if this lady might potentially be the first female President if McCain dies while in term, then we should know all we can about her.
We also have a feeling that if the same thing were occurring on the Democrat’s side, they’d be plastering it all over the news.
Unfortunately for Palin, it turns out this little-known, first-term governor had a lot to be made public. And here are some of the juicy items that have been released, aside from the news of her teenaged daughter’s pregnancy:
– A private attorney is authorized to spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of abuse of power.
– Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image.
– Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska, with some members supporting secession from the United States.
– She has acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past.
A senior McCain adviser, Tucker Eskew, tries to clean up Palin’s image by saying that tonight ├óΓé¼┼ôShe will speak as a governor, a former mayor and someone with both hands on the steering wheel of America├óΓé¼Γäós energy economy. She will detail her record of shaking up the status quo in Alaska and standing up to entrenched interests to put the government back on the side of the people.├óΓé¼┬¥
