Film dorks around the world are going to gobble this up!
Sources confirm that starting next fall, J.J. Abrams will step back behind the camera on a brand new film. In true Abrams’ fashion, no one knows anything about the movie besides that he is directing it. However, it was just announced that he’ll have a very special partner in crime to work with him on his new flick:
Sources suggest that the script actually happens to be “a tip of the hat to [Spielberg’s] movies of the ’70s and early ’80s,” so having Steven on in an advisory role isn’t so far fetched. As the source explained:
“J.J. wants to make sure Steven is properly paid homage to. This is really an interpretation of some of Spielberg’s earlier films, but done in a personal way.”
The next generation honoring the last. How nice!
Hey, maybe we’ll get to see showdown between E.T. and the Smoke Monster from Lost!
