The Trump administration is already the biggest joke in the world, so it’s not too shocking they’re trying to avoid comedians.
Even if it means ending a longstanding tradition of having a comic host the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The White House Correspondents’ Association announced Monday that biographer Ron Chernow will host the event, making it the first in decades that would not have a comedian serving as the (roast) master of ceremonies.

The move comes months after President Donald Trump, his staff, and media personalities were savagely roasted by Michelle Wolf — who tweeted out a biting reaction to the announcement on Monday:

Trump was not in attendance for Wolf’s scathing set, which drew equal amounts of praise and criticism.
According to The Washington Post, it wasn’t just the POTUS — some WHCA member news outlets were so triggered by Wolf’s roast, they threatened to pull their financial support from the dinner unless the comedian was removed from the menu.
But can we expect Trump to be at next year’s dinner, as it will replace jokes with a rousing speech about… the importance of free speech??
Chernow said in the WHCA’s press release:
“The White House Correspondents’ Association has asked me to make the case for the First Amendment and I am happy to oblige. Freedom of the press is always a timely subject and this seems like the perfect moment to go back to basics.”
Hey, at least like they’re replacing it with something Trump needs to hear.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain or Cadet Bone Spurs may cancel like he did the Arlington Veterans Day ceremony.
