Whitney Houston has JUST became the first woman to have three of her albums in the Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 at the same time!
The three albums that are currently topping the chart are:
– Whitney: The Greatest Hits (#2, 174,000 units sold)
– The Bodyguard soundtrack (#6, 47,000 units sold)
– Whitney Houston (#9, 30,000 units sold)
In total, Whitney’s albums have sold 320,000 units this week, which is a 29% increase from last week’s 247,000 albums sold!
Since her death, she’s sold a total of 668,000 albums and 2.76 million tracks! WOW.
The previous artist to land three top 10 albums at once was Simon & Garfunkel, who accomplished the feat back in July 1968 with their albums Bookends (#1), The Graduate soundtrack (#2), and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme (#10).
We’re glad that Whitney’s memory lives on so strongly through her music. Her talent will forever be remembered.
