Unfortunately, she has no one to blame but herself. So sad.
According to The National Enquirer, doctors are pleading with Whitney Houston to quit smoking and drinking after it was uncovered she is fighting the early stages of the lung disease, emphysema. Though her condition hasn’t reached its peak, it does explain why she had so much difficulty breathing and performing on her “comeback” tour.
Her doctors are imploring Whitney to quit smoking immediately or risk death – a ultimatum that hasn’t quite hit home for Whitney yet. She reportedly hasn’t show any signs of progress. On May 19th, she was spotted at a party for ex-Bobby Brown’s father and got so drunk, her 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, had to support her and take her home.
Ah, and that’s the worse part. This young girl, fresh out of rehab herself, has taken it upon herself to look after her mother as she attends outpatient rehab care during the day and then “parties all night.” Quite the role model she turned out to be, huh?
In truth, we can’t say we’re surprised to hear Whitney has done so much damage to herself, but we find it hard to believe that is completely ignoring the warnings from her doctors about her possible death. She has so much to live for, so much left still to do. If nothing else, she should want to fight for the daughter that not only has her own demons to face, but is standing dutifully by to help her mother face her own.
You have a good kid there, Whit. Don’t break her heart like this. Get help. Get clean. Get better.
UPDATE: Whitney’s rep, Kristen Foster, has come forward to insist that the National Enquirer’s report is “completely untrue.”
Guess we’ll have to take your word on that!
