We’re sorry to hear that this was a source of contention in Whitney’s family.
Yesterday, we heard reports that Whitney Houston will be laid to rest later this week at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ…where she was born.
Now, we’ve learned that these funeral plans caused some drama in her family, because Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston and her cousin Dionne Warwick both wanted her to be buried in Atlanta.
They believe she had the fondest memories there…but the rest of Whitney’s family wants her buried in Newark, and we’re hearing that the burial WILL still take place in NJ.
We just hope that this conflict over the burial doesn’t cause TOO many ill feelings in Whitney’s family. This is already a difficult enough time for them.
