It’s the classic she did it, he did it scenario – who to believe?!
News came this morning that Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish had broken up, but no one was too sure why. Now, sources close to each of the actors tell different stories to explain the split.
In Ryan’s corner, a pal says that Ryan ended the relationship while she was gone in Australia because they grew apart. The source claims they had broken up a few times before and with Abbie in Australia for seven months, Ryan felt they had gone their separate ways. Hence, he asked her to remove her stuff from his house.
In Abbie’s corner, we get a whole different story, one filled with suspicion and possible adultery. According to a close friend of Abbie’s , she broke it off because she was afraid Ryan would become unfaithful, especially now that his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon, is back on the market. The friend says:
“Abbie has always questioned Ryan’s loyalty. How could she not? When she began dating him he was married, she’s a smart girl. She knows men don’t change, she hoped he would but she always knew deep down this wasn’t forever.”
Juicy, juicy! So which side is true?!
Is Ryan a big cry baby who couldn’t handle a long distance relationship or is Abbie an insecure, nagging clinger who jumped the gun on some supposed adultery?
They both sound just about right to us!
