This was a HUGE week for Broadway!
Thanksgiving brought tourists to NYC and sales on the Great White Way went through the roof.
Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark brought in $200,605 for its first preview performance on Sunday, but Wicked was the clear winner for the weekend. The show earned $2,150,665 this week, making it the top single-week total in Broadway history.
And every show in the top 10 pulled in over a million dollars! The Lion King ($1,870,565) broke a house record and Elf ($1,406,283) jumped up 63% from last week.
Not far behind was The Addams Family ($1,299,371), Promises, Promises ($1,077,802), Mary Poppins ($1,206,630), The Phantom of the Opera ($1,024,656) and The Merchant of Venice ($1,160,360).
Impressive. Did U go to NYC for Thankgiving?!
