Aww, sad news for Oz!
Karl Slover, the lovable actor who played lead trumpeter, townsman, and soldier in the Wizard of Oz has passed away at 93.
He was one of the shortest in the film, 4’5, but he stood out with his great smile and warm Dorothy welcome.
John Fricke says it best:
Of the 124 little people, he’s one of the handful who got to enjoy this latter-day fame, to have people know who he was and be able to pick him out of the crowd in the movie. He has genuine immortality.
Rest in peace, Karl! Tell the Wizard hi for us!!
