Ann Taylor Gives Disabled Shopper & Guide Dog The Boot!

This is just wrong!
Becky Andrews retail therapy sesh at a Salt Lake City Ann Taylor store was cut short when an employee stopped and told her and guide dog Cricket weren’t welcome!
WTH?!?
Andrews suffers from a degenerative eye condition, Retinitis pigmentosa and needs a seeing eye dog to get around!
Becky explained the whole ordeal to KSL News:

“Cricket and I navigated into the store. I was so excited. Unfortunately, I was greeted by a clerk with her first words indicating I needed to leave the store with my dog. I politely explained that she was a guide dog and allowed to be here. She indicated again dogs were not allowed and she would need to talk to her store manager… I again explained she was a guide dog and allowed to be here.”

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, guide dogs are allowed to enter any premise, but an Ann Taylor rep claims Cricket wasn’t wearing a harness, which violates store policy.
The Salt Lake City woman said her dog was indeed wearing a harness, even though it doesn’t matter under the law, and is simply wanting an understanding from the retailer!
Check out the whole story and the adorable Cricket in the clip (above)!
