Ba-da-ba-ba-ba! I’m lovin’ it! You’re fired!!!
That’s what 8-year McDonald’s employee Heather Levia heard when she showed up at work this week! The fast food giant terminated the 23-year-old single mother of twins after she bought food for some local firefighters!
As a morning shift manager, Heather thought she could help show her appreciation for a group of firefighters who had been battling a house fire in sub-zero temperatures! When they came into her restaurant, she offered to buy them breakfast!
The crew ordered 25 sandwiches and hash browns that all came out to a bill of $83. But it was Heather who picked up the tab with her own money!
Soon after, another department ordered $70 worth of food so the hardworking woman sent her boss a text asking if the company could pick up the check on this order. Free food for police and fire workers was common practice at her restaurant, according to Heather.
Her boss, however, refused!
Heather even went so far as to call the corporate office to ask permission but the answer was still no!
So, Heather and her co-workers paid once AGAIN for the firefighters’ meals!
Did you get all that? Fast food worker willing to buy some local heroes a free meal, but the billion dollar company was NOT!
The next day, Heather showed up to work and was promptly given the boot! The giant, red Ronald McDonald boot!
But why was she fired?!
The company claims Heather swore at her superior but she says that’s just not true!
Heather explained:
“I did say this is ├óΓé¼╦£freaking├óΓé¼Γäó ridiculous. But it was not implied to anybody. It├óΓé¼Γäós just wrong. I wish the communities would change and help each other out. I wish that things didn├óΓé¼Γäót have to be the way they are. And if losing my job is going to speak out to the community, then that├óΓé¼Γäós what it├óΓé¼Γäós going to do.├óΓé¼┬¥
Um, this IS freaking ridiculous! We think Heather should not only be able to keep her job, she should be employee of the month!
Firing a caring, kind, and LOYAL employee after 8 years? For shame, McD’s!
It’s your loss though! Heather says she’s already gotten several offers to go work elsewhere!
