Twitter wars aside, we’d like to clarify one point: We do think Stacy Francis is extremely talented. At her core, she has a remarkable and powerful voice and we’re glad that she is finally getting her shot to shine on The X Factor.
Or is she?
We’ve actually just come to learn that Stacy has had QUITE a career prior to singing before Simon Cowell and Co., as she worked STEADILY as a performer on Broadway, movies/tv and with HUGE musical acts for several YEARS!
In the 90s, Stacy found herself associating with some big name talents. Sources reveal that she toured with the likes of Madonna, Prince and Chaka Khan, while also being a regular on New York Broadway stages, like Smokey Joe’s Cafe and Footloose. Beyond that, she also had a lucrative career on the screen, according to IMDB, as she had a role in the 1990’s flick The Bonfire of the Vanities and a couple episodes of Third Watch.
Huh. Such incredible opportunities for someone who led us to believe she had struggled for years to even muster the courage to sing in front of other people. Doesn’t seem that way to us. Why, just look at her performing for Tom Cruise and all the guests of his birthday party in 2004!
Oh yeah! Watch the video (above)! That’s Stacy herself, crooning out a version of You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ by the Righteous Brothers. And that’s Tom Cruise, in the front row.
Wow! So many celebrities! You would think at least one of them would introduce her to the right people. You would think all the years of touring and being on Broadway would’ve helped her catch the eye of some producer. And even if not, you would think these would be the kinds things that would be brought up in a background check for a major television show trying to pass her off as a amateur.
A little suspicious if you ask us! What other secrets do you have, Stacy?
P.S. – You should also google her name with VH1├óΓé¼Γäós Beverly Hills Fabulous. Think that might surprise you as well.
