Back in 2009, Joe McElderry was on the top of the world. He had a bright future ahead of him as he had just been crowned the winner of U.K.’s the X Factor and he was looking forward to working with Simon Cowell on his new record label.
But today, those dreams have all piqued and died as just 16 months after he was signed, Simon’s label dropped Joe for not having the star power they once thought he’d have. Now, having nowhere else to go and little money left to his name, Joe is back living with his mother Eileen at her modest home.
Sad, but keep your chin up, Joe! If you keep working and plugging along at your music, you might be able to turn this thing around. Only if you let the situation get you down and force you to quit have you truly failed.
